Friends Board of Directors
The Friends have a Board of Directors with seven members. Charlie Hoffman is the board's president.
The current Daily editor in chief and business manager are automatic members of the Friends board. They are:
- Camille J. Ricketts, Daily editor in chief
- Brendan R. Marten, Daily business manager
The Stanford Daily board elects two of its members to the Friends board, guaranteeing the Daily a majority. Those two representatives are:
- Michael Londgren, a former Daily business manager
- Lorry Lokey, a former Daily editor-in-chief
In addition, three alumni are elected to two-year terms on the Friends board. They are:
- Charlie Hoffman, a Nebraska businessman and former Daily editor in chief
- Elna Tymes, a Mountain View-based businesswoman and a former Daily staff editor
- Christy Wise, a freelance journalist in Washington, D.C., and a former Daily opinions editor
Other outside directors in the past have included Henry Muller of Time, Inc. and Doyle McManus of the Los Angeles Times.
The Friends board meets twice a year and elects its directors at the November meeting for terms that are expiring. Please see the President's message in this web site for ways that we can expand the process of electing directors. |
